Ingredients:

1 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp sunflower butter

1 tbsp maple syrup

1/4 tsp vanilla

Pinch sea salt

1 tbsp cocoa powder

1-2 tbsp sliced almonds

In a small pot over low heat add coconut oil and sunflower butter until just melted and well combined using a whisk. Turn off stove and add maple syrup, vanilla and salt. Whisk until well blended. Remove from the stove and add cocoa powder mixing to combine with a whisk. Add sliced almonds and stir in with a spoon. In a small 2x5 inch glass dish* (I used a glass Tupperware container), lined with parchment paper, spread chocolate mixture evenly. Place in freezer for 1.5-2 hours. Enjoy in moderation!! : )

* If you want a thinner chocolate bar you can use a slightly larger container and spread the chocolate mixture out more thinly.

Prep & Make time:

Prep ~ 20 minutes

Make ~ 90 minutes (freezer time)

Total ~ 1 hr 50 minutes

Love the Power of Food:

Sunflower seeds (Sunflower butter)

This wonderful seed is loaded with health promoting nutrients and makes an excellent alternative to peanut butter or regular butter as a spread or in some baking recipes. It is a great source of protein, magnesium, selenium, phosphorus, copper, iron, vitamin E, Vitamin B1, B5 and B6 as well as folic acid.
